Trevor Klein - Producer/Exec Producer - Secret Life of Boys / Goldie’s Oldies
It’s been a pleasure working with Jonathan on two series of Secret Life of Boys, and to set up Goldie’s Oldies with him. I would recommend him unreservedly.
In prep he takes the time to understand not just what the writers, producers and execs are looking for, but also what the broadcasters are expecting. He takes a forensic eye to scripts to ensure the storytelling and comedy is as robust as possible.
A calm, focussed and nurturing presence on set, he is trusted by his actors and creates an environment where particularly younger performers are able to do their best work. A natural collaborator, he strikes a deft balance of encouraging crew to bring ideas and suggestions while staying true to a coherent creative vision.
He consistently delivers episodes that exceed creative expectations, while staying on time and on budget. I hope to work with him again on many more productions, so perhaps (selfishly) I shouldn’t have been so honest here?
Sue Howells - Producer - Death in Paradise / Trollied
Jonathan is a pleasure to work with. His ability to bring the best out of cast and crew is down to his professionalism, calmness on set and creative resourcefulness.
James Dean - Producer - Marley’s Ghosts
It was such a pleasure working with Jonathan on Marley’s Ghosts. Not only did we get along like a house on fire,
but I could sense just how his experience, creativity, preparation and natural comic instincts were going to combine
to make a fantastic series. He worked really well with the cast, and the crew supported him every step of the way.
We had a very tight schedule, all on location, and came in on time and on budget
and were both very proud of what we achieved.
